“immersed beyond words”

immersed beyond words

Sound becomes silence, the air becomes still

Characters become familiar acquaintances

It seems the world I know vanished

No more am I, who I am

I am now immersed.

How far, how far do I go?

The line between reality and fantasy has become unclear

I have indeed reached a place, a place I longed for

It is a place I cannot leave, I will not leave

The pages flow with ease

One more, just one more page

Does anyone understand, can anyone relate?

I have become immersed, immersed beyond words.

by Ray Davis

HELLO AGAIN! i know it has been a long while since i posted! so much going on and i have soo many announcements. the first announcement i have to make is that i am going to begin collaborating with my older brother, ray davis! i am so excited for this. i guess i never realized really how creative my brother was until just recently. i always thought i was the only weird creative artist in the family but i am coming to find out my brother is super creative in his own right and i am soooo freaking excited. i mean i’m still the weird one but it’s nice sharing ideas back and forth with him. when i was shooting in PA, i was sooo stuck because it is so gorgeous and he was with me and started giving me awesome ideas and helped me out of my block and i got super inspired during the shoot. i always knew he could think out of the box but i guess i never put two and two together about him being artistic. call me captain oblivious.

so he likes to write, (and i HATE writing) and he is going to write little stories and stuff to my photography. we are also collaborating on ideas and such for themes and images for me to shoot. i have a goal in the next year to publish a book of my images and his writings! so we are beginning to work towards that.

i showed him the beginning edit of this photo and he wrote the above poem. which i took a lyric from and made into my title since it fit perfectly. i always love reading and the whole world disappears when i am in a book. i become one with the book, the story, the characters. sometimes when things are bad in my reality i hide myself in my favorite books and all my problems are blocked out of my mind. i am always saddened when finishing a book because i don’t want to say goodbye to the characters. i want to know where they go on from there. my dream was always to go into the book and live. like the never-ending story. if you know me you know i am the living definition of “she had her head in a book.”

it means soo much to me to work with my brother. he’s awesome. he lets me do a lot of crazy things when i visit, like shoot a portrait of me falling down his basement stairs, painting his girls in mud and doing a photo shoot, building a cardboard ocean set to do pictures in his driveway, asking his neighbor if i can use their rusted tub in their backyard to do a shoot. not to mention all the other crazy things i do with my nieces. lol. so i would love you all to show him a warm welcome, support and love like you have shown me(thank you from the bottom of my heart!).

so that is the first announcement. i have two more coming that i want to share with images. and i know i have been “missing” a lot but well you may see a huge change in that soon. (wink) so stay tuned!! you can subscribe to my blog to know when i post since facebook is hiding pages from people’s newsfeeds now. just enter your email along the side of this page under “subscribe to blog via email” that way when i post it will let you know! and trust me i have a LOT of exciting things coming up! so stay tuned!!!

me and raymond

on a side note that is totally irrelevant, today marks four years of marriage to my wonderful, amazing husband! and i want to shout out to the world how much i LOVE LOVE LOVE him!!
